what's happenin' baby?

Cripe, only the second post this month and it'll be September on Friday. Last Friday, I went to Luci's retirement party. Saturday, I went to some garage sales and, uh, had people over for cards and drinking. Sunday I went to see my mom. Nuff bout that.

Monday, we tried to go to Casa Barron to see Kentucky Chrome but alas, the heavens opened so we ate at Mr. Beefy's (cannot recommend) and then we came to my house for libations and Connie and I went to the radio meeting and then to Beckett's where Gus is NOT any longer the Monday night tarbender.

Big Labor Day weekend coming up and not one plan except that one day, I don't want to get in a car at all. My propane tank ran out so I must refill for holiday grilling. Which I feel there must be some of. Although the Ernesto storm could come up and put a damper on our festivities. I should have a radio show this weekend. And then Sept. 16 and that's it for September.

Happy Birthday to Me

August, it's been busy. Friday, Aug. 4, Annie and I went to Powell and saw Tom's band, Good Guys, at a bar called the Lazy Chameleon.

Then that Saturday, we went to the Kling Rib-Off. Then I took a break the weekend of the 11-12-13.

We had GNO at Beckett's Aug. 2 instead of at Amy's because it was so hot. Then we had GNO part 2 at Connie D's Aug. 16 where us August birthday girls received our presents.

The weekend of Aug. 18-20, Amy and I went to the Madison, IN, Ribberfest where we saw:
Roy Rogers

That boy can play the guitar.

A scene from the river bank.

Roomful of Blues, we were not impressed.

They had these pigs.

The Jimmy Davis band from Madison was great.

Miranda Louise did a great version of Angel from Montgomery.

Here's a crowd shot.

More crowd.

The cowboy pig.

I had left my camera at Whitey's on Aug. 13. When I went to retrieve it in the bar, they had taken this pic.

The Blues Brothers pigs.

Betty LaVette.

The rainbow pig.

The Fabulous Thunderbirds were great.

Today it was my birthday. I went to Beckett's with Amy. Donna came in. It was Gus's last day at the bar. We played some pool. Then I went to Jan and Carol Bell's. I forced them into committing to something on Sept. 2. I told them I would cook.

This weekend I am having my mom up for Sat and Sun after going to Luci's retirement party on Friday night. Kentucky Chrome is at Casa Barron Aug. 28.
